The main physiotherapy association in Australia representing more than 12,000 physiotherapists (as of 2011) is the Australian Physiotherapy Association, or APA. The APA is the organization that primarily represents the interests of Australian physiotherapists and their patients.
The Australian Physiotherapy Association promotes quality physiotherapy practice by "assisting its member physiotherapists in achieving professional excellence and career success." The APA aims to make quality physiotherapy available to all Australians whenever required.
